  • Lovely!

First of all, no questions about Rachmaninov's talent as a composer. :D His Second Concerto is a brilliant masterpiece. Concerning this particular recording, I can't judge Valentina Lisitsa's performance in terms of technique, given I'm no professional musician, but personally I think that despite some rushed places, she delivers an excellent performance here. Not to mention the orchestra, which accompanies her splendidly. If nothing else, the sound quality is amazing and definitely worth the price of this recording. Very well done!

    Smooth and beautiful.
  • Best rendition of the second concerto

Valentina's rendition beautifully impresses the violent joyous energy of Rachmaninov's compositions.
  • Just Fine

Valentina plays with such passion, such fire, such skill. But I have a few things that irked me: in the first movement, she played just a little too fast. In the second movement, I think we have a conceited bassoon player. It was quite loud. Especially in the beginning, which was supposed to be soft.
  • Non plus ultra

Don't even think about it. Buy it. Lisitsa is truly the Queen of the piano.
  • Rachmaninawesome!

Haha, lame title pun aside, this is really a wonderful performance by Valentina Lisitsa and the orchestra. I had not previously heard this piece, but now I'm enamored! Buy this piece, you certainly won't regret it.
  • Not just a copy, it

    By J. E. Jacobs
After listening to this after almost immediately downloading it upon its release, I knew that this was a very special recording. Valentina's fan base has been waiting for a long time for this to be released, and I must say, I was not disappointed whatsoever. One of my favorite recordings of this piece now. It is not just a copy of other recordings that have been done of this masterwork, it is unique, and Valentina brings out many aspects of the music that are often lost in other recordings. A must buy for this extremely low price too!
